The sign in the museum read: Do Not Touch The Old Bones!

But I just couldn’t resist. I reached out my hand and touched one of the leg bones.

Suddenly I was somewhere else and found my hand was touching the leg of a live Tyrannosaurus Rex. Immediately I pulled my hand away and ran away for safety

Weeks passed. Months passed. And finally years passed. I existed in a world full of beasts and plants I’d never seen before. Somehow I managed to survive.

But I wanted to go home. I wanted to leave this old world.

Then it dawned on me like the warm sunrise I felt every morning. I must find the T-Rex!

He resided in a large cave, and I waited for him to be sleeping. But he heard me and awoke. He stood tall and roared, preparing to bend down and pick me up in his mouth. However, just before it happened, I was able to reach out and touch his leg.

Immediately, I was in the museum again. My dirty, worn clothes were clean and fresh again. It was as if I never left.

My wife came up to me and said, “Where have you been? I’ve looked all over for you.”

I decided not to tell her, since I knew she wouldn’t believe me.

“You know,” she said, “I never noticed that gray in your hair before. You suddenly look much older.”

She laughed, and I did, too.
